In this watercolor and ink piece, a profound and emotive narrative unfolds with each stroke. The central image portrays a woman, her visage replaced by a crown of thorny yet stunning roses, contemplating a profound loss. The intricate detailing captures the raw emotion as tears stream down her face while cradling her heart in her hands, a gaping hole in her chest revealing the absence of what was once there. The symbolism of red candle wax drops adds a visceral layer, representing the remnants of an extinguished flame. Her skin are shades of grey as she has lost all color and sense of liveliness. As the composition extends, her shoulders and skin transform into delicate ashes, carried away by the wind. I created this piece to bring awarness during the Suicide and Depression Awarness Months.
