Ansuz translates to the "odin/god" card in my Enchanted Runes Oracle Deck. The original is a 16x20 acylic artwork on canvas. In the oracle, there is a difference in pulling this card upright or reversed. Here is a further breakdown of this special card:

Upright

The Norse god, Odin, sacrificed one of his eyes for wisdom to then rely on two ravens. Through his raven messengers, named Huginn and Muninn, Odin obtained information around events happening in the world. Ansuz is known to be Odin’s rune, because it represents the power of language and the spoken word, in addition to the transmission of knowledge, messages and wisdom. Are you seeking more knowledge? Keep your ears open; the uncertainty you are experiencing will ease, paving a path to a clearer perspective. Sharpen your senses, as you will be receiving spiritual or intuitive insights that can help to make better informed decisions. It can come from anywhere; the divine, ancestors, omens, a teacher, family, a friend or even a stranger. Guidance is coming, what you do with this knowledge is in your hands. This rune offers encouragement to express your thoughts, ideas, and feelings openly and honestly. Listen deeply, speak your truth, and embrace the power of language as a means of connection and transformation. Ansuz is the role of both the teacher and the student. It suggests a time of learning, education, and sharing your knowledge with others.

Reversed

With reversed Ansuz, you are facing difficulty finding a way to communicate effectively, or finding it difficult to receive communication from others.  Ansuz may suggest the dissemination of misinformation, trickery, delusion or misinterpretation with someone or something you are experiencing. There is a blockage or an imbalance. Are you not voicing your thoughts? Or are you talking too much and not listening to the messages? The complexity of speaking your honest thoughts can be daunting, and can start to create boundaries, even within your mind. It is crucial to always speak clearly, especially now. Be genuine when listening to your thoughts. Be truthful in both who you are now and who you want to be. Being unable to express yourself can lead to misunderstanding. In turn, listening with closed ears and a constant open mouth may cause you to miss out on wisdom or divine direction. Be as willing to receive information from others. Practice through honest listening and silence; this will prevent you from hearing only to respond.  Open your mind to allow the flow of spiritual insights and guidance. Now is the time to observe and balance out your communication skills.
